  1. The radical symmetry is really successful. The use of a gradient scale to develop that pattern really draws the viewer. I almost wish you had more of that pattern developed somewhere else only because it is such a heavy element. It doesn't necessarily allow the viewer to move their eyes throughout the piece.

  2. Since I did it 8"x 8" I was afraid that it would be too crowded, but now that you mention it I agree. Maybe I can make another small pattern.

    1. Yea totally!! I was even thinking just a slit of it on the frame or even coming out from the black paper.

  3. I like the incorporation of the tears and what you chose to do with your leftover pieces. My eye definitely moves around in that pattern you've made with the little widgets (is that the right word?) but big tear on the bottom might've cut off the pattern too soon. But I really do enjoy this piece. Its very clean and well thought out.

  4. The gradient/value scale really makes my eyes swirl in and out of the composition and the direction of the tiny pieces of swatches makes my eyes swirl as well. I felt a need of more swirls like that in different sizes.

  5. Love the tension you create with the one bold rectangle interrupting the beautiful cuts you made. I think this entire composition is really successful.

  7. I enjoy how you added the tearing, I shows depth in your piece as if the radical pattern is farther away. I also enjoy the gradient use of your swatches, excellent craftsmanship as well

  8. Great craftsmanship! I really like how you included the black torn shapes around the edge. It creates a lot of contrast against the geometric shapes. I especially love that sudden break in the swirling because it forces the eye to move around the whole composition. I also enjoy how you used a gradient to create a pattern.

  11. This is quite ambitious;I enjoy the radial pattern, lends the eye a sense a movement.Consider the white space, what if that radial pattern touched the edge of the ripped border?

  12. Love the different textures and techniques used in the piece with the torn paper and the radiating circles that go from dark to light going out.
